Our new Injury Clinic is designed to accommodate patients with an acute injury that will most likely require ongoing allied health treatment rather than surgery.
It allows for expert opinion from our Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon, as well as the opportunity to formulate a rehabilitation program with our clinical podiatrist, which can then be followed up by your local allied health provider.
Alternating Mondays and Wednesdays at our Malvern Clinic.
At our Injury Clinic you will see two practitioners: Mr Daniel Goldbloom, Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle surgeon, and Erin Smith, one of our clinical podiatrists. Common conditions seen at our Injury Clinic include acute lateral ligament injuries, base of 5th metatarsal fractures, stress fractures, fractures of the anterior calcaneal process or tip of the fibula and heel pain.
We verify each patient's case for suitability for the Injury Clinic.
Mr Goldbloom and a clinical podiatrist will review your imaging, examine the site of your injury and create a management plan. In cases where it is realised that surgery is required, this will be arranged during the appointment.
The cost of your consultation is partly rebatable with a referral from your doctor and an additional rebate may be available from your private health insurer.
